Dimenco Lenticular Technology for 3D Automotive Display without Glasses

Since the advent of 3D consumers have expressed a strong want with the proviso that it must be without glasses. In automotive applications could also offer other benefits like more efficient warning of traffic conditions.

Current in production Cluster 3D rendered displays to driver are of value but they should be considered as base stage level technology concepts as most look artificial or flat. Most are usually fixed and so when customer moves it must be adjusted through eye tracking.

There are other technologies in use in automotive like Multi-Layer Display.

A few other next generation examples for cluster 3D Displays are:

  1. LightScape® offers high performance 3D graphics rendering on a 12.3” display and uses resolution of 2880×1080 pixels with 250dpi.
  2. Multilayer Display uses two 12.3” displays stacked behind each other with about 8mm – offers 1440×540 pixels per display.
  3. Another Multi-Layer cluster creates a 3D effect by using two reconfigurable displays separated by a flat semi-transparent mirror.

The purpose of the upgraded Dimenco 3D Display technology is to go beyond cluster displays and offer greater in car value. Current and expanded use cases are:

  1. Cockpit display.
  2. Center Display.
  3. Merged Center Display & Cockpit for Autonomous Vehicles.
  4. Rear view especially when reversing.
  5. Rear view LCD display after Rear View Mirrors are eliminated.
  6. Rear seat display or advertisement displays in autonomous vehicles.

Targeting luxury car segments.
