Beneq Translucent Display & Touch Input

Four key functional applications for Beneq / Lumineq IGLD / TFEL Technology.

In-Glass Laminated Displays (IGLD) empower you to wow your customers by turning glass windows into see-through interactive displays. Rugged Thin Film Electroluminescent displays (TFEL) Display & Keyless Entry Systems, granting or revoking access is instant and straightforward.

Transparent Displays (TASEL) make a great differentiator when you want to create a unique look and conveys a message of premium quality products.

A keyless Entry System provides better access control and reduces the risk of unwanted entries using a duplicate key. The passcode can be changed from time to time. Currently there are different keyless entry locks available and the one on Ford / Lincoln Vehicles is probably the most popular. Below are five technologies currently in market.

  1. Keypad Lock: Can be accessed by typing a passcode.
  2. Touchscreen Lock: Use a touch screen instead of a mechanical keypad for inputting the passcode.
  3. Biometrics Lock: Use fingerprints to control access but consistent fingerprint read is a concern.
  4. Z-wave enabled Lock: Locks with Z-wave connected to a smart hub to remotely lock or unlock.
  5. Flex-lock and Auto-Lock: Can set lock to automatically relock after a few seconds of inactivity.

With a new transparent in-glass display technology, a keypad lock can be integrated into shared or personal vehicles glass door or window. The transparent touch display with a keypad function laminates the transparent thin film display between two glass layers. It is invisible until someone touches a specific area.

LUMINEQ solution comes with the display glass, FPC (flex cable) and driving electronics. With this display, you can bring a fully transparent keypad solution for applications using authorized coded entry in vehicles. For extra security interface of the display is through CAN.

Beneq Translucent High Mount Automotive Displays 2017

Next-generation displays for recreational vehicles. This is important for driver’s seat where visibility to the road ahead must be priority and information must be clearly displayed and easily accessible.

HUDs require slanted windows, and RVs often have vertical windshields and windows. HUDs also have a very limited sweet spot – information is clearly visible only from a very narrow angle.

Transparent displays for motorhome windshields, windows, and glass surfaces may be the answer.

Lumineq® transparent and in-glass laminated displays have none of the challenges described above, and they’re not limited to the windshield. Any glass surface is the perfect invisible frame for our transparent display.

  • Transparent displays placed and placed inside a windshield or window.
  • They do not take up any valuable space.
  • Will show information clearly to the driver and passenger(s).
  • Become invisible when they are turned off.
  • Underline, not undermine, meticulously designed interiors.

Lumineq® TFEL displays tolerate cold, pressure, shock and vibrations better than any other display type.

The durability of Lumineq embedded TFEL displays is proven by surviving up to 200 g-force shocks and a staggering 250,000 hour mean time between failures (MTBF) for the display glass.

Lumineq TFEL displays are capable of instant-on performance from -60 °C to +105 °C (from -76 °F to +221 °F), with instant pixel response over the entire temperature range. And no motion blur!

Lumineq displays also offer full sunlight readability and extremely wide viewing angles in all conditions.

Electromagnetic compatibility: Lumineq TFEL displays support the product in complying with FCC Part 15, Subpart J, Class B and EN55022, Level B, when housed in a suitable enclosure.

Transparent displays improve ergonomics of cockpits and driver environments of work vehicles. The amount of information, signals, displays and meters shown to operators of large vehicles, trains and trams is constantly increasing. Laminating transparent displays in the windshield and side windows reduces clutter in the cockpit and allows clearer view of the surroundings.

Lumineq translucent displays reduce clutter and improve driver ergonomics. In addition amount of information, signals, displays and meters shown to operators of large vehicles, trains and trams is constantly increasing. Laminating transparent displays in the windshield, dashboards and side windows reduces clutter in the cockpit and allows a clearer view of the surroundings.

In demanding work conditions and cabins of off-highway vehicles, especially in off-road use, blurred vision and fuzzy displays may decrease driver ergonomics and compromise safety. In-glass laminated Lumineq displays remain crystal-clear even when the vehicle is shaking and tolerate shocks and vibration better than other HUD display technologies. Lumineq displays can also be integrated in vertical windshields, save space in the dashboard and have a very wide viewing angle. This allows building head-up displays (HUD) in areas where traditional HUD displays do not work.
