Along with Designs developed by Design HMI in collaboration with Harting, Microchip, Osram and others here is another great concept design that is ideally suited for low profile applications in Automotive.
It is designed for ease of assembly both at component and next trim assembly. .
Bill of materials are Flexible flat cable which has circuits, LED’s 
and electronic components either printed or soldered.
If 3D styling is needed the flex cable is thermo formed before soldering of components.
Bill of materials as assumed:
- Flex cable with all components printed or soldered.
- Cover lens with spread optics.
- Light guide but target to integrate into cover lens.
- Body with integrated heat sink.
