Display Cover Glass for 2D glass covers customized glass to fit design with added value solutions like printing, hardening and “Anti-treatments” which include Anti-Reflection (AR), Anti-Glare (AG), etc. For 3D applications with Pantaglass CLICK www.pantaglass.com.

Pantaglass is a new technology innovation from Abatek. Glass that is shatter proof, gives full design freedom, can be 3D shaped for design freedom, flexible, high optical transmittance of light, different surface finishes and shatter proof.

  1. Min Thickness: 0.5 mm, Max. 10 mm.
  2. Max size: 280 x 170 mm
  3. We need a radius of 0.2 mm on sharp edges
  4. >92% transmission rate over the visible light spectrum w/o reflection
  5. Refractive index (depends a bit on hardness): 1.50
  6. Abbe no: 49.5 to 52.4 with λD = 589.3nm.
  7. Anti-Glare: Can be done by making slight matt surface structure
  8. Cleaning/media resistance.

 

Seals are important component for the reliable functionality that guarantee best compression set for sealing purposes. In addition, the material composition can be modified to improve thermal management or make it electrically conductive – Specialty Light reflective seals.

Thermal Pad customized pads in silicone or acrylic material with typical parameters of:

  • Thickness: 0,3 to 8,0 mm
  • Hardness: ≥ 30Shore A
  • Thermal Conductivity: ≤ 5 K/m. k

Thermal Pad adds additional support like damping vibration and has good dielectric properties.

Light Guides Silicone light guides or thin sheets enable good homogeneous lighting with fewer LED’s and allow special effects. Thermally stable with a light transmission >92%.

SMT–Space-Damper applied between glass and electronics, PCB to PCB, PCB and housing, etc. In addition, it can be made electrically conductive – i.e. connector, capacitive air gap killer- or thermally conductive. Can be shaped as light diffuser and for lens.

Polyform – Gapless 3D HMI-Surface new gapless Human Machine Interface – HMI – technology that generates a customized 2D or 3D shaped panel. It supports all functions like capacitive or click feel and solutions like black panel, functional- and status lighting. Due to 3D shape and all types of surface structures, i.e. matt, glossy, wood, brushed, carbon, two different next to each other, you can make mesmerizing designs and guide finger and eye. Can be made from self-healing material for rough environment.

Capacitive Touch Solutions w/Abatek

Capacitive Solutions by Abatek Polyform – an intelligent closed surface. Polyform is a new HMI technology that provides a customized 2D or 3D shaped user interface. It can integrate capacitive functions, touch display elements as well as buttons. Important: The Polyform surface is self-healing!

Capacitive Electrodes on Flexible Foils with conductive traces in different materials can be assembled with adhesive tape or co- molding to the existing A-surface to establish selective capacitive function. In combination with our Abatek Polyform technology, the foil can be co-molded into to the surface.

Deliverable is to bridge the gap with or without additional tactile function. Conductive Silicone Key benefit from the combination of traditional keypad (e.g. sealing, pre-load, lighting, click feel) with innovative capacitive sensing – the conductive black material.

For multiple conductive areas with- or without displacement, use a multi touch area keypad. For a hard A-surfaces without displacement a conductive silicone shape can be used as connector to bridge an air gap. See cone to the right that also supports lighting.

Conductive Damper-Spacer and SMT Silicone Key – the conductive rubber serves as spacer, anti-vibration cushion and connector. Size and shape custom made.  The contact gets soldered on the PCB and is SMT place able. With SMT Silicone Key, right, you can also add standard silicone keypad function with customized force/way curve and electrical contact. Result is double function.

Silicone Connector / Zebra Strips – Silicone connector is the ideal solution for electrical connectivity between two parallel plane surfaces without soldering, gluing or complex assembly. Eliminate expensive ZIF-Connectors with Silicone Connector to assemble the flex tail or any other multi- contact part. Used in the millions for LCD. Integrate an elastomer connector into the keypad and connect the capacitive surface to the PCB without losing functions like light guide, sealing etc.

Soft Backlighting Decals: There has been further developments working with Abatek a major innovator, designer and manufacturer of silicone assemblies.

Target here is uniformly illuminated emblem which will be viewed through one layer of upholstery, or other covering.  Soft light guide material to eliminate need for foam. Emblem mixing chamber, using co-molded clear and white reflective silicones to efficiently emit light from embedded low power LEDs – like Osram KW DPLS32.EC. Concept is for the entire assembly to be encased in silicone with only Power, GND and LIN interface signal line.

Soft silicone is ideal for seat lighting as it will not pinch / irritate the owner like PC or Acrylic light luminary imbedded in the seat could.
