IMD is a technology for performing simultaneous decoration using a transfer foil from a roll inside an injection mold thus it is known as “In-mold decoration” for max. 2.5D shapes and for 1C injection molded products.
FIM / IML / IME / IMSE is the production method in which a printed sheet is formed (sheet-by-sheet) and then a precise cut film is inserted inside a injection tool. This method is most suitable for decorating complex shapes in 3D also suitable for 1C to 3C injection molded products.
