Electronically controlled moisture transport in porous membranes and textiles. With HYDRO_BOTÒ the transport of fluid moisture is controlled, namely water, sweat, and other salt containing fluids. This basic functionality enables HYDRO_BOTÒ to pump liquid in one or both directions.

HYDRO_BOTÒ with the functionality to additionally capture vapor moisture, enabling an indirect transport of vapor through rapid transformation of vapor moisture into fluid that can be transported through the basic pumping functionality. Developing the basic functionality to enable direct transport of vapor moisture.

By the principle of electro osmosis it has capability to control the flow and direction of the positive ions and given the fact that moisture will connect to the ions, we then achieve the pumping effect we define as the HYDRO_BOTÒ Technology.

Thanks to the principles of electro osmosis, the membrane is transformed from a Nano-porous film where moisture can pass through, to a set of micropumps able to transport high volumes of liquids. It requires very low electrical voltage – 0,5V or less – and the power consumption are measured to micro-amps.

Key properties of the electro osmotic fabric

The electro osmotic fabric is a 3x functional layer textile containing:

  1. Electrode textiles
  2. Electroosmotic membrane
  3. Electrode textile

There are conductive elements in both the textiles and / or on membrane surfaces.
