BeBop sensor technology is designed to measure physical interaction. It determines force between a person and an object, Piezo-resistive fabric measures touch, force, bend, twist, location, size, weight, shape with a highly customizable sensor array design.

Basic Design Specifications:

  1. Base fabric is 0.5mm thick
  2. Force range measured: 1g to 300kg, depending on desired application
  3. Operating temperature range: -40C – 100C
  4. Durability: No degradation over 1M cycles301
  5. Environmental/waterproofing: fabric can be hermetically sealed environment as needed
  6. Power: draws 2 – 150mA depending on number of sensors
  7. Communication: USB, UART, CAN, Serial, Bluetooth
  8. Sew ability: sensor grid can be designed around sew points
  9. Flammability: > 400C
  10. Data output: 8-12-bit ADC data can be provided raw or filtered.
  11. Data relative to applications (ex: weight, center of pressure, shape of impression)
  12. Sample rate: up to 500 kHz, depending on desired application
  13. Size limitations: no size limit, can be as small as 2 x 2mm
